What TMS costs
How insurance works for TMS, what self-pay looks like.

If you have insurance
Covered by most major Vermont insurers. We check your benefits first.
If you pay yourself
$250–$375 per session, 10% off paid upfront.
Either way
You'll know your cost before anything is booked.
Two ways to pay
Insurance, or self-pay
Most people use insurance for depression. Self-pay covers the protocols it doesn't.
Covered for depression
Covered by most major Vermont insurers. Your share depends on your plan.
- We check your benefits before you start.
- Your share is usually a deductible, copay, or coinsurance.
- We give you the out-of-pocket figure in plain numbers.
- We handle prior authorization if it's needed.
We confirm your coverage in writing before anything is scheduled.
Self-pay & off-label
For self-pay, and for protocols insurance generally doesn't cover.
- 10% off if you pay for the full protocol upfront.
- Anxiety add-ons during a covered course: $50–$100 sliding scale.
- CareCredit financing available.
A protocol is a course of sessions. We'll give you the full total at your evaluation.
Straight answers
The worries people actually have
THE COST
"What will I actually owe?"
With insurance, your share is a deductible, copay, or coinsurance — and we tell you the figure before you start. Self-pay is $250–$375 a session, 10% off paid upfront.
IF IT ISN'T COVERED
"What if it isn't covered?"
We tell you up front and give you the self-pay cost — so money is never a surprise mid-treatment.
THE TIME
"Is this a big time commitment?"
A standard course runs several weeks. If that's hard to fit in, our accelerated 6-day protocol condenses it right down.
THE TRAVEL
"The commute puts me off."
We're central and walkable at 147 State Street, and accelerated protocols mean fewer trips than a standard course.
How we decide
How we work out if it's right
Send a few details through the form, with no commitment and nothing owed.

We contact your insurer and work out what's covered and what your share would be.

You get a clear estimate of your out-of-pocket cost, in plain language, before any appointment.

Questions
What people ask before they call
Is TMS covered by insurance?
For depression, yes — it's covered by most major Vermont insurers. Your exact out-of-pocket depends on your plan. We verify your benefits before you start, so there are no surprises.
How much is TMS if I pay myself?
Self-pay is $250–$375 per session depending on the protocol. Pay for the full protocol upfront and you get 10% off. We'll give you the total for your specific course at your evaluation.
What about treatment for anxiety or other conditions?
Protocols outside standard depression treatment are generally off-label and not covered by insurance. For patients already having a covered depression course, we offer add-on treatments — most often for anxiety — on a sliding scale of $50–$100.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. CareCredit is available to spread the cost of self-pay treatment over time. Ask us and we'll point you to it.
Will I know my cost before I commit?
Always. We verify your benefits and give you a clear estimate of your own cost before anything is scheduled. Nothing is booked, and nothing is charged, until you've seen the number and said yes.
